Taggity Tag Tag

Charity tagged us with a fun photo challenge that goes like this: Open your pictures, find the sixth folder and choose the sixth photo. Then post the photo and blog about it.

I love this photo of Tracy when we were on the island of St. Thomas. We went on a cruise when he was just 4 months old and he was such a trooper. He did great on the sand and we even helped him swim in the ocean. It is fun to look at old pictures. Oh, Trace. He has grown so much. By the way, he is with his Aunt Mindy. My legs were definitely not that skinny.
I now tag...Sari, Kristen, Jami, Trisha, Hillary and Nik

LUCKY 7 TAG

7 Things I Can Do:

1. Write and speak, although it is hard to tell with my messy blogging. I used to write short stories and poems. I loved to writing research papers and taking essay tests. The longer I am out of school, the more I realize my grammar and writing skills are getting poopy. I don't know that I am a good speaker, but I sure enjoy it.

2. Coach a kids team, not that I plan on doing it again anytime soon.

3. Plan a party

4. Multitask. It drives Mike crazy because when we watch a movie I have to be doing something else too. I don't like to hold still. Or I just can't hold still.

5.Make up a story that my kids want to hear over and over and over again.

6.Mike told me to put organize. I think he is trying to put my OCD in a good light.

7.Nurse Summer while running after Everett at the same time I am cheering for Tracy at his baseball games.

7Things I Cannot Do:

1. SLEEP without crazy ambien.

2. Run long distances without chewing gum (weird quirk, I know)

3.Stop calling people douches. I have really been trying, but sometimes it just feels good. And let's face it, there are a lot of douches out there.

4.Eat the recommended caloric intake my trainer suggests. I don't eat a lot of crap, I just like to eat. I would rather do extra cardio than give up my late night bowl of cereal. Sorry Thomas!

5.Do anything around electricity. I am TERRIFIED of being shocked!

6. Leave the house without the beds made.

7.Touch raw chicken without gloves. I am not kidding. We have rubber gloves that I use. I also cannot eat meat if it isn't VERY WELL DONE. Unless it is sushi, that is.

7 Things that Attracted Me to Mike

1. He had really nice calves-I am a legs lady.

2. Sense of humor. We have a good time with each other and now with our kids.

3. His knowledge of the Gospel. He always has answers to my questions and never makes me feel stupid for not knowing things I should have learned in Primary.

4. His persistence. No matter how hard I tried to drive him away, he kept coming back for more. I eventually gave in and we got married. :) He is very driven in everything that he does. He puts so much effort into his job and his callings and into our family.

5.He keeps me on a pedestal. I just asked him what thing I can't do and his answer was "I don't think there is anything you can't do." He indulges me. He also spoils me, but not just with "things". I go out with girlfriends quite often, get busy with Primary stuff, go off about politics, get anal about keeping the house clean/organized... and he just deals with it. He also shows appreciation by telling me he doesn't know how I deal with the kids all day without killing them.

6.He can change a tire. Seriously, I broke up with a guy once after I had to change his tire. I like a handyman and Mike fits the bill. He knows so much about cars, electronics, houses.... he can do pretty much anything.

7. He is such a great example. He never swears or watches R-rated movies. I don't either, but having him around makes it easier for me. He is one-up on me though because he never calls anyone a douche or a sphincter. Stake conference was always a day to sleep in when I was growing up, but Mike has never missed unless he was out of town. Our kids are so lucky to have him as their father.

7 Things I Say Most Often

1. dude (usually referring to the boys)

2. douche

3. hilarious

4. No way!

5. radical (I think I am a wanna-be surfer)

6. seriously

7. I'll do it. I can't seem to say no and often take on too much. I tell Mike I just like to know things are going to get done correctly. Correctly often translates into "my way".

7 Celebrity Admirations:

1.Will Smith- He is smart and has a great look on life. He is a great father and husband and has his priorities in order. Plus, he has the body of a Greek God, albeit a God with funny ears.

2.Bill O'Reilly -He speaks his mind in an arena of people who generally oppose his views.

3.Ellen- Who doesn't love her? She is so hilarious! I admire how sure she is in herself and her convictions.

4.Eva Longoria/Eva Mendez- I have a huge crush on them. I also have a crush on Kat Deeley? from So You Think You Can Dance. She was the host. I am worse than Mike about checking out chicks.

5.Audrey Hepburn-She is a classic example of style and grace.

6.Mitt Romney. He is honest, educated and driven. He dealt with the Olympic scandal with grace and ran a good campaign. Romney 2012? I hope so. I would love to run for office one day(locally) and hope to follow his example. Maybe it is in the genes (Mitt is my mamma's cousin).

7.Kate Hudson. She is just so dang cute and seems like a fun person to be around.

7 Favorite Foods (in no particular order):

1. fish, actually any seafood

2. cheesecake

3. cereal/oatmeal

4. fruits and veggies- any kind, any time

5. milk

Go Jags!

I Got Tagged -- HIGH SCHOOL

I have been laughing at all my friends memories who have been tagged with this one, but now it's my turn and it is not so funny. I suppose it is only fair I subject myself to the same embarrassment so here it goes. Don't judge me too harshly. I was not always the mature shining example I am today. (Hee-hee)

1. Did you date someone from your school? Yeah, on and off for about five years. He was the varsity basketball "star" and his coach hated me for distracting him.

2. What kind of car did you drive? I didn't.

3. What was the most embarrassing moment of high school? I have spent a lot of money in therapy trying to forget these. Just kidding. I am sure most of High School was embarrassing but I can't remember anything specific. If anyone can think of anything let me know. I will go look through my scrapbooks and come up with something.

4. Were you a party animal? Every day was a party, but NOT with drugs or anything. We managed to keep ourselves entertained with speedoman, trains(I won't go into detail about this one. If you were there you know why. We were really stupid.), sleeping in cars (you are a good snuggle-buddy Jami), Spring Break, Drill camp/Nationals, spying on people....so many fun times.

5. Were you considered a flirt? No, I was a faithful girlfriend. Although I had plenty of crushes on the side.

6. Were you in band, orchestra, or choir? No

7. Were you a nerd? One word: POPULAR! (refer to Kristen's post) What makes one a "nerd" anyway. I was in honors classes and was a yearbook staff editor so does that make me one? Maybe the fact that I actually enjoyed school makes me a nerd.

8. Were you on any varsity teams? I was on Drill Team. I really wanted to do track but had a conflict in my schedule.

9. Did you get suspended/ expelled? No, but I should have been once. Sorry Jami and Val, you guys got all the blame (thanks to your future husbands) for our little stunt.

10. Can you still sing the fight song? I'm not so sure that I could even sing the whole fight song when I was in high school -- I deferred those responsibilities to the 'popular' head cheerleader (that would be Kristen).

11. Who were your favorite teachers? I don't know that I have one, or can remember their names. I will look in my yearbook and get back on this one too.

12. Where did you sit during lunch? Thanks to Kristen and Amber, and Jen I now remember that we usually sat at a certain table to eat and then moved to the stairs to chat.

13. What was your school's full name? West Jordan High School

14. School mascot? Jamal the Jaguar

15. Did you go to Homecoming and who with? My boyfriend, Ben

16. If you could go back and do it again, would you? No thanks. I enjoyed High School, but I would not want to do it again. I still see all my closest girlfriends and we relive old memories enough.

17. What do you remember most about graduation? I sort of liked mooning people back in the day, so I remember one of my teachers having me prove I had a skirt on under my gown. As if I was going to moon the entire crowd! My mooning was tastefully thank you very much. (Perhaps this is why nothing from high school comes to me as embarrassing. If I was willing to show my butt in public, why would anything else seem embarrassing?)

I also remember we wore our graduation collars around our necks and called them "popularity sashes". It looked much cuter too.

18. Where did you go senior skip day? Every day was Senior skip day. Especially before I got my press pass taken away.

19. Were you in a club? If you look in my yearbook I am in several. But, I wasn't really. Because I was on the YB staff, a group of us thought it was funny to pose in all the club photos. My editor was not very happy, but I was so awesome he didn't kick me off.

20. Have you gained some weight since then? Yep. I don't mind the gaining weight part. It is that it has all turned to fat.

21. Who was your prom date? My boyfriend again- I was so boring. Even more boring is that we barely caught the tail-end of Junior Prom. He had to play in some basketball game to get his scholarship. I missed out on most of the fun and I had been a nominee for Prom Queen so I missed out on all that excitement too.

22. Are you planning on going to your 10 year reunion? Been there, PLANNED that. It was a lot of fun and I am looking forward to planning the next one.

23. Looking back, what advice would you give yourself?I would have stayed single. I think I missed out on a lot because I dated the same person the whole time. I also wish I had tried harder to make track work out as well. Ultimately I would tell myself life gets really good so RELAX!!!

Hope you all enjoyed my high school experience! I tag 4 people: Troy, Kristi, Alicia and Hayley

Good times.

Remember When? Here is a fun little game...Leave a comment on my blog of a memory that you and I have had together. It doesn't matter if you've known me for a short time, or a long time, anything you remember! Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.On your mark...get set...blog your memories!!
